Blogshorts Day 30

Darting  around like a mouse in a maze

trying to remember while:

     picking up shoes,

               turning off lights,

                        signing papers,

                              buttering toast

That I started by  looking for my keys.

Really interesting post....

This is sort of off topic for me but I found it interesting,

But think about it.  How many skinny people do you see drinking diet soda?

"Wat er" You talking about.

This morning as I was fiddling around the house,  It amazed me how much I deal with water and its problems,  Down in the basement its like being lost at sea.

A few days ago, a mysterious puddle appeared in the basement, seemingly without a source. However as the puddle got larger and larger it became obvious that a small pinhole leak had opened in the joint of an elbow.  This was irritation on multiple levels on one hand, this is something that (in theory) I could fix myself,  but it would entail violating my father's fundamental rule:

DON'T MESS WITH WATER

Blogshorts Day 28

On the other end patience and exasperation

On this end weariness and frustration.

Explaining all this, I feel stupid and petty

I start with "this is a long story......."

The neutral zone

The fence
I have this part of my property which technically speaking isnt my property.  Do you remember Joe and Terry.  Well as I have mentioned previously, they are a teensy weensy bit anti-social.  One of the bits of evidence of that is that we had a fence between our properties (chain link, functional, not beautiful, but no ugly either).  Apparently that wasn't quite enough for them, so they just put in a new taller wood fence so they can pretend they live in Idaho.  Because I thought two fences looked really stupid (and the fact that I couldn't pull the weeds between the fences) I pulled out my chain link fence.  In the process I have picked up about 2 feet of property which is sorta mine, but sorta not.

This is my only real "new" plant in the neutral zone....

I just have no idea what it is

Blogshorts Day 23

Its the 21st century

Gas station signs are LEDs

A random thought occurred to me.....

Can those little nines be set to another number or do they come like that.......

Grasshopper Pie

A video I made with Mora the other day.  Grasshopper pie is one of our family favorites,  Its pretty easy and I thought it would be fun to make with Mora.

Initially I made this video to do something fun with my daughter and to make something for this blog,  but when editing the video,   I also got to see how I interacted with my daughter during the course of the filming.

Blogshorts Day 22

Tonite the kids are coming over.

They come in,  eat, and go out again.

Shared custody?  With the whole world I guess.

I'll leave the light on for them.

Blogshorts Day 24

Lillies, what to do?

In Spring, an annoying weed.

In August,  a flopped over mess, over run with weeds.

But in July, you are a sight to behold

Craftsman Spindle Sofa

This is kind of catching things in process, but this has been such a big project that I wanted to share a little bit of it with you.

I have always liked craftsman style furniture,   Its solid sturdy lines appeal to me as well as the beauty of the wood,  The straight geometrical structure really connects to the nature of how I look at things.

That is a nice way of saying that I am a pretty linear thinker.

My friend Peter, who is a far better woodworker than I am suggested that we try a craftsman furniture project together.  In a moment of weakness I agreed.

This is what we are putting together  (actually two of them, one for him and one for me)
